A Brief History of 3 Ordinary Things
by EricTheBearJew In this modern world of ours, we tend to not bat at eye at ordinary things, such as glass, string, and goat sex. It's quite a shame, really, as so much history has been taken for granted for centuries. It's not just objects we take for granted, but food as well. For example, no one stops to think about the history of coconuts.

Bandido Chronicles: Los Plateados
by El Coyote Men always come together when pursuing similar goals. This is how outlaw gangs came to be. No matter how rotten or cruel those people were, they would always find a way to set their differences apart and work in a group. This would be pretty awesome if it weren't for the fact that they got together to murder and pillage in raids. So that's no good.

The Weird World of Victorian Entertainment
by OrangeEyebrows The Victorians didn't, and I’d like to you all to brace yourselves for this next bit, have computer games or access to the internet. Charles Babbage was making strides in that direction with his mechanical computer, though he probably didn't anticipate that it would one day form the basis of worldwide society dedicated to pornography and pictures of cats. First Contact
by DoodleSnickers What the hell would be out this far? I wondered to myself. This area is unmapped, even pirates wouldn’t come here. “Orders, sir?” Gordon asked. I looked around the immaculate bridge to find all of my people watching me and waiting for my next words. I quietly mulled the thought over. We weren’t on an extremely strict schedule. The ship had complementary weaponry, along with a security team in case whoever was making the signal was hostile. If it truly was an SOS call of sorts, ignoring it would be criminal. Especially given how isolated the area was. “We’ll swoop in and give it a look,” I told the tiny hologram. Gordon looked a little angry at the words. “Set course towards the signal. If there are any hostiles, get us ready for an emergency jump.” “Understood,” she answered with a nod. I could swear that I saw the faintest smile on the AI’s face. “Setting course now.” The stars outside of the shielding began to shift as the ship turned. When the stars stopped moving, I considered us centered and attempted to gaze down our target. Of course, we were hundreds of kilometers away, so seeing anything smaller than a battleship would be impossible. Yet I could still make out a brown-looking spot in the distance. That it was large enough to be seen distressed me more than a little. I once again hoped that whatever it was that we were flying at wasn’t hostile.
