DnD?

Postby Midas Burroughs » Sat Oct 04, 2014 8:02 pm

I've seen a few people suggest that we play an IRC DnD game so I thought I would open the floor. We could use this thread to figure out who's doing what and what edition we want and so on. Feel free to edit my post if you have privileges or ask me to edit.

EDIT: here are some informational links: how stats work, basic info, some more complicated stuff

Edition: 3.5

DM: Chowder Pants or Midas if no one else is up for it

Party: Yes.

Cleric- Iduncare of Meh. True Neutral with good-aligned abilities. Played by Midas.

Soldier (fighter?)- Jeff Moon Moon. Chaotic Neutral. Played by Dasha.

Sorceror- Nobeard. Played by JJ.

Barbarian- Nicolas Cage. Played by JT.

Rogue- Peater. Played by Moo.

Some kind of mage definitely- Named something less phallic than Dildolius. Elf. Played by Andro

Barrister of the Nine (tentative)- Played by Avi

Monk- Timoth Brighteyes. Played by Vimes.

Druid- Dib. Played by Sunny.

Bard- Lissandra. Chaotic Neutral. Place by FtCitizen.

As someone who's never played D&D, I think I'll fit right in.

I'll be Nobeard the Sorceror. Chaotic Good. Catfolk.

I will use my previous DnD character: a half orc barbarian named Nicolas Cage.

Also, 3.5 or bust.

I'll play if someone can get a 2nd edition gamer up to modern times.

And I will, I suppose, be Jeff Moon Moon, the human soldier.

Always wanted to play this but could never find a group around where I live.

I shall be Peater, the halfling rogue (any resemblance to any person living or dead is purely coincidental)

When is this happening? I might be able to play, depending on the whens and such.

In that case, consider me in. Oh, and 3.5, of course. I'll decide on a character and class later today, though I'm leaning towards a mage.

I haven't played yet either so it could be fun. It's probably a turn based fantasy setting right? Ok since no one wants to do it I'll be the tank character. Probably a knight (it's not my first choice but both rogue and mage are taken).
Plus everyone needs a tank to hide behind while they're flinging spells or missiles.

Actually when I play LoL (which I haven't for months because of an epic computer destruction and the inability to afford a new computer which plays said game [I need to win the fucking lottery already]) I often played tanks because I was good at said tank. I would leap in front of skill shots to save my carries. I've also done supports because who doesn't need a healer sometimes, am I right?

I'll join. Hopefully, I can actually participate rather than fade away again. I've never played DnD, but hey, first time for everything.

As for my character: I don't have one yet. Gonna need to think about it.

Since a lot of people are asking for help, we could make this a character creation thread and/or ask questions in an IRC room.

That would help a lot Midas, thanks. I'm currently taking a course and studying at night so I haven't been to irc in a long time nor do I have much time to hang out there right now, so could we do that here if possible?

Plus since it looks like quite a few of us haven't played Dnd, you might give us an overview. I mean we've all played RPG's so we're not unfamiliar with the concept, just maybe this specific game.
