This is why many forums don't allow editing posts after the fact. There was some solid gold in those stories. Le sigh

Now I get why Cracked only gives you a 5-minute window to edit comments.

James Bond: "Red wine with fish. Well, that should have told me something."
Red Grant: "You may know the right wines, but you're the one on your knees. How does it feel, old man?"
From Russia with Love

"This woman is an idiot without a basic grasp of the English language, and the guy is an abusive creepy weirdo."
– JamesT's review of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Seriously, I started up Sunny's video of "To Zanarkand" and everything, reminding me that Final Fantasy X had some kick-ass music.

Yeah it did. Hell, I still really like to play FFX.

Now you get why I am no longer on PWOT. I prefer the written word. But I must insist on it being editable. I like being able to delete the past.

Especially with this, which is intended to be an annual thing.

There is definitely something to be said for the immutable written word on the internet though, where everything can normally be washed away in an instant. Disallowing editing also does result in more thoughtful, better proofread posts, and l also like the idea of thinking hard before you bring what you wrote to print, so to speak. Of course, good posters will always proofread, and edit their posts for clarity, but it can encourage others to do so without relying on editing their post as a crutch. Really though, I'm very take it or leave it on these kinds of things.

Edit: Editing is really good to have for minor typos that would otherwise bug you, however.

Edit 2: It's also good for cute little addenda as well, I guess.

Edit 3: I guess it also works to completely undermine my original post too, when you think about it.

Editing!
