Love them or hate them, cover songs are all around us. Some are terrific homages to the original, some take it in directions the author of the song never thought possible, and some take a great, good, or even just OK song and slather it in awful. I'm calling on you fellow Commenters to share your favorite AND most hated cover songs!

Ok here is my favourite cover song in the whole world, it's a cover of Led Zeppelin's song "No Quarter" by Tool, and I just love it! I hope I put this up right, I'm still a bit of a n00b :)
Uhh damn my noobishness. Could anyone tell me how to embed the video? I'm embarrassingly crap at this

"The Cosmos is all that is or was or ever will be. Our feeblest contemplations of the Cosmos stir us -- there is a tingling in the spine, a catch in the voice, a faint sensation, as if a distant memory, of falling from a height. We know we are approaching the greatest of mysteries." -Carl Sagan

Any other Radiohead fans? I went searching one day for "Radiohead bluegrass" to find a sample of a song done on bluegrass, but instead of a shitty tribute record I got this:
I swear to you, I never felt so torn apart. I love the original (it's my favorite closing track of any record ever), but the second fiddle solo just stirs me. Home run.
Here's one more incredible cover:
For the record, I don't love the original of this song.

Now here me out guys. Before you walk away awkwardly just listen to it. It's actually pretty good.
There's actually a ton of mariachi cover songs. Wonderwall, Hotel California, Bohemian Rhapsody, you name it.
