Videos that give you the "Feels"

Postby HarpingCarp » Sun Jul 28, 2013 8:02 pm

Now we already have threads for hilarious videos and contagious laughter.

This thread is for those videos found on the amazing interweb that give you the feels. You know the feels. I'll start. It can be anything, it can be a video we've all seen 200 times, post it anyway!

Here's a flash orchestra (if you will) assembling to perform Ode to Joy on a crowded street, I suggest you watch it all the way until the vocals kick in:

Yeah everyone's seen this video and it's a Bruno Mars song, but damned if it doesn't get me all mushy inside. Well, mushier.

I realize this is kind of a copout because I found this thanks to Cracked, but:

It's the only video that gives me "the feels" I think (yes Carp, I'm soulless, this has been established, wanna fight about it?). Look at those dogs!

Carp, after watching "thumbs up for Rock and Roll" I feel both more capable of doing things and less worthy of doing them.

Claude Debussy is my favorite composer of all time, and arguably one of the most influential composers to modern music today. I listen to some of his works and just think... where did THAT note even come from? The progressions his compositions work their way through don't always or even frequently adhere to the intervals you'd expect, and there is such a heavy emphasis on evocation over technically impressive music, though he was an incredible pianist in his own right, capable of sight-reading as well as Lizst, the Paganini of the piano.

Clair de Lune is one of his best known compositions, but I've never seen anyone play it like this, and you HAVE to have the video to really appreciate what's going on in Angela Hewitt's mind while she interprets it. At about 2:35 there is a loud banging noise, probably some idiot who dropped something heavy, but I like to imagine someone's head in the audience exploded. Even though this makes me laugh every time I watch the video, by the end of it I'm completely done in.

This year's Academy Award winning animated short was from Disney, called Paperman. It's very cute, and it does tug a bit at the heartstrings, but that's greatly owing to the excellent score.

I couldn't help but think of the Google commercial playing during that one Super Bowl some years back. Gave me the "feels" then, still gives me the "feels" now.

Whoa, seriously? I'm the last person to post on this thread? What is wrong with you people? You need to be getting "the feels" more. Either that or I need to sack the heck up.

Anyway, have some Andre the Giant.

I hate/love Thai insurance commercials.
Thailand has no shame about just making the saddest things imaginable.

Im at my office trying not to cry so hard I had to stop looking these up. UGH.

Actually, most of South East Asia does not care about how bad their ads hurt.

I like country music.

Warning: I'm about to go all patriotic on you.

JamishT was a heck of a guy,
With a devilish twinkle in his eye.
With his hand-picked flowers,
And his feel-good powers,
He made all the girls blush and sigh.
