"I would prefer to face the robber knight," Rashad says.

Sir Egier listens and seems pleased with the decisions made.

Sirs Dagobert, Shadi, Rashad, Adele and Rev Leufroy will bring the Knight of the Jewel to justice dead or alive.

Sirs Coenwulf, Ragnar, Renier and Rosamund along with her elf dog, Hecate, will hunt down the strange wolf.

"Gather your wargear, you leave in the morning."

Hecate happily gathered some bones for the trip.

"We shall have a grand adventure," Sir Shadi says joyfully, going to gather her gear. "With such a party of knights to face the foe, the All Merciful will surely grant us victory."

"Aye, we shall. Let us be off, and defeat this evil man!" Coenwulf says as he heads to gather his gear.

"You'll regret it when you see our nice fur coats this winter court," Renier laughs as he buckles his belt and picks up his axes. "Good luck anyhow. Hey, anyone care for a wager? We're definitely going to be back first!"

"You may have given your word of honour last week but I'll go with simple money today," grins Renier. "Twelve deniers to the bettor whose team gets here first, after finishing their task," he waves at the gates of Bastogne, daring his proud cousin(s) to bet against the group with a wolf and a dog.

The two groups set out along the same road for half a day until they depart the highway for the forest roads.

Sir Egier assigns Sir Dagobert (the best hunter) to lead the party against the Knight of the Jewel and Sir Renier (the eldest) to hunt the devil-wolf.

Sir Dagobert's band continues largely north along a track that makes its way through the lightly wooded hills. It is prime country for swine and goats and there are herdsmen every mile or so along the way.

Sir Renier's band turns east into the deep wood toward the village of Esneux and the castle of Sir Eingar. It is slower going due to the narrow road and they see only a few woodsmen.

If you have questions or actions at this point let's hear them.

"Someone should talk to the woodsmen. Unfamiliar humans react inconsistently with me. I don't feel like having an axe thrown at me."

"I don't exactly tend to engender small-talk either. I think Hecate and I should follow a ways behind, just within shouting range, in fact I'll go and change into a dress, and Hecate can try to act like an earthly dog. You can take my chargers, squire, and pack horse, I'll just need my rouncy. If my hunch is right and we're up against a man of many skins, he'll steer wide of a band of knights, but he may underestimate a mere girl and her dog. If he strikes, we'll have Hecate's cunning and my writing hand primed for an unpleasant surprise."

After pulling into some foliage to exchange her armor for her dress, she weaves back and forth across the forest path, keeping her elf-eyes wide open for signs of enchantment. Request Faerie Lore and/or Awareness at the same time, if possible.
