She was there to talk about prison reform. It's not clear to me why her opinion on that is so important that the president has to hear it.

She seems to have taken up the case of a woman who, at 63 years of age, was imprisoned for life for a non-violent drugs offense. From what I understand she was being used as some kind of communications go-between. Kardashian has paid for a legal team to take up her case and personally requested Trump pardon her. It's the only time I've ever come close to respecting something KK has done.

2018.

Seriously what the fuck is even going on anymore? It's like we're living in a throwaway joke from an episode of The Simpsons.

I had another job interview today for an entry level position with someone who doesn’t understand how experience works. Most of the interview was spent going over the things I haven’t done in any formal capacity. This would be a rant, except that on my way home, I got a call from the last temp agency I worked with, and they want me back for another few months on the bridge for some reason.

Today in Bending The Rules: muslim women who go out wearing headdresses and covering the skin below their necks, but do said covering with skintight leggings and tops and so on. Can't get acid thrown in your face if you're technically adhering to the rules. Smart.

In Istanbul you see a lot of women (according to locals they're Saudis) who do this only with their whole face covered except their eyes. They looked like ninjas.

I’m helping my sister and her husband move some furniture, and they’re playing a podcast of Slenderman erotica in the truck. So... that’s a thing that exists.

EDIT: Now it’s Dick Cheney/Bill Clinton torture porn.

My pantry now looks almost like a normal human adult person's pantry, instead of the haphazard food collection of an autistic fatass.

I wonder if you're the one who's filling it?

Will you look at that... Trump commuted her sentence.

Maybe it was a mistake for so many celebrities to publicly criticize Trump. That achieved nothing. But apparently, they can convince him to do good things if they suck up to him. He also gave Jack Johnson, (first African American world heavyweight boxing champion) a posthumous pardon because Sylvester Stallone asked him to.

It appears that The Economist has revamped their site and done away with their comments. Now, The Economist's comments were a dumpster fire, one of the few sites I've seen where the comments are worse than The Daily Mail and YouTube, so it's no great loss to humanity. Still, I'm mildly disappointed but unsurprised that they did away with them instead of finding a way to fix them.

I saw my mother entertain my one-year-old niece (her granddaughter) by reading the ingredients of diet snacks to her. For some reason, my niece really found that interesting, and listened as if she were told a story. I think it's the first time anyone was that happy to hear the ingredients of organic coconut chips.

The ones from Trader Joe's are made from coconut meats plus coconut milk.

The surprising thing about that story to me is that coconut chips count as a diet food. Since coconut milk is basically sugar and saturated fat, they're probably not something anyone on a diet should be eating.
