I love me some AJJ. Also, its indie slash folk because that's probably not a huge portion of our demographic. So post whatever you want.

I love this jam... fuck this city, fuck this filthy air.

I actually heard these guys on NPR first. Not a song, just an interview. I'm just glad that I looked into them.

EDIT: Aaagh! Okay, I'll be back. The band is We Are Augustines, the song is "Augustine," and they're awesome.

How about Indie AND Folk!!!

Ok, so it's more bluegrass, than folk. But hey, I'm not trying to be pretentious or anything hipster like that. I just tell my friends that this is country music....that I like.

I don't know if this counts as indie, but I like it.

A while ago, my sister's boyfriend was driving through a very rural area when an open-bed truck carrying bales of hay got in front of him. Then this song started playing:

(Presumably, the only way to stop a bad guy with a transgender-friendly privacy law is a good guy with a transgender-friendly privacy law, and thus transgender-friendly privacy law rights need to be enshrined in the Constitution as well)

This is a traditional folk song, performed by Great Big Sea. It has the jauntiness that is expected of a high energy traditional song. The lyrics, which are loosely based on the life of the pirate William Kidd, are based on a song from Newfoundland.

Great Big Sea - Captain Kidd from their compilation of traditional folk songs The Hard and the Easy, released in 2005
