What is on your bucket list?

Discussion, in general

What is on your bucket list?

Postby DoglovingJim » Thu Feb 15, 2018 4:37 am

Hello fellow humans, this thread is quite simple and originated with my discovery of OctoberPumpkin always wanting a ferret.

Image

It is a welcoming place to add your bucket lists, to discuss things that you always wanted to achieve. So you have somewhere that you can look back on and find encouragement from others. Or perhaps find ideas on how to successfully complete those things, and maybe even gain new ideas of things you want to do in your lifetime along the way. You can edit and cross things out as you fulfill them, for example if you wanted to travel to [insert place] maybe even give a update and show pictures of when you are finally there.

I will be in the meantime pondering my own bucket list, and writing it down on paper before posting it.

He made all the girls blush and sigh.

I'd like to try DMT but only if I'm absolved of normal everyday responsibilities while I'm away.

Drive a car with more than 400 hp. For even just a couple hours is okay, I'm not picky.

I would like to visit the moon.

I'm sure I'll come up with more in the future. That's just what I thought of off the top of my head.

Oh yeah I meant in a track setting. Normal traffic isn't part of my dream.

This isn't The Social Cellar, people. Have a little respect for Jim's actual question.

My bucket list is mostly places I want to visit. Following by things I want to eat (animals and fruit). So this is a list of things I want to do that aren't "go somewhere and see something" or "put this thing into my mouth and swallow it."

  • Get at least three short stories published.
  • Get a novel published.
  • Make a mini-documentary on nature.
  • Build a Japanese-style garden with native plants.
  • Successfully grow a melon. (In gardening, this is my white whale.)
  • Make a private zoo.
  • Make my own cheese.
  • Make my own chocolate, bean-to-bar.
  • Win a lawsuit. (America, y'all.)
  • Fire a gun.
  • Have sex.
  • Get a thumb from Jim, even if I have to cut it off his hand. Oh, wait...

Discord is different, the thumbing up doesn't count like in TCS however I'm glad you can tick it off your list at least.

You'll get one in TCS eventually too, just biding my time so you don't expect it.

Of those other things on your list however, which one would you say you are the closest to achieving?

In no particular order:

- Get a novel published
- Get all 50+ of my planned novels published
- Host at least one book signing and manage to appear charming and socially competent during it
- Have some of my works adapted to films, television, games, or whatever suits them
- Move in with my girlfriend
- Visit the Georgia Aquarium (the largest aquarium in the world)
- Visit Japan
- Meet at least a majority of my online friends in person
- Sign up for and complete an escape room
- Go scuba diving
- Punch at least one of the following square in the face: Nicholas Sparks, E.L. James, Steven Moffat
- Participate in a political protest march

- Own a house in the city where I live now. This one's actually on the cards within the next year or so!
- Sell a story (I've had one or two published, depending whether you count the one on TCS, but for free and both times as a contest prize.)
- Finish a (non-fanfiction) novel that I don't later regret and decide never to show anyone again. Publishing it would be awesome but as long as I actually get one written.
- Visit Lake Baikal, and see an Amur leopard in the wild.

Bucket list as of 17/02/2018:
-Solve a crime.
-Pilot a plane.
-Sail a boat (proper boat, either a sailing boat or a speed boat).
-Go scuba diving (properly, I don't count the great barrier reef).
-Travel the world, and finally cover my hat fully with hat-pins of the lands I stepped on (at the moment I got 4).
-Visit my ancestral homelands and learn more about my ancestry (Hungary again and Finland).
-Have a magnificent garden, a little slice of Eden in a home of my own.
-Make a beautiful woman smile.
-Get married to a beautiful woman.
-Invent something useful.
-Start shooting again.
-Get a trophy/medal for something solely on my own merit.
-Inspire someone.
-Go to one of those conventions where people wear costumes, geek out for a day without shame.
-Serve the people, and truly make someones life better.
-Master an instrument, become proficient at it (only know one song on the tremolo harmonica).
-Raise another dog, breed at least one more litter if possible.
-Be a gentleman, and remain a gentleman for the rest of my days.
-Earn God's love, and make him proud.

EDIT:
Ohhh, an escape room sounds awesome KleinerKiller. As for Carrie, I look forward to hearing you achieve getting that home because I'm sure you must be very excited as it gets closer and closer.
