To be fair, it's not really a word as such, more a verbal formula. The longest true word (as in defined in a reference dictionary) is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.
Which is a purposely long word for silicosis. So it's the longest word, but it's the longest word for something that already had a shorter word for it.
The longest English word that is neither a technical term nor purposely long for the sake of being long is floccinaucinihilipilification.
