4 Lessons I Learned As A Low-Rent Evel Knievel

Did anyone else find yourself saying "Yes, and what about that incident you just mentioned? Please tell me more."?
It just seemed, to me, that there were a lot of follow up questions that should have been asked to make the article more interesting.
For instance, he mentions recently losing teeth in a stunt, but no description of what he was trying to accomplish. Just a link to Wiki that explains the injury.
Could have been a great read.

I must be old. I had the toy.
It WAS a hand-me-down, though!

Am I the only person who doesn't understand why you'd say you got an ear infection so bad that your eardrum actually burst in italics like that as though it was something people would be surprised could even happen, as opposed to such a common side effect of a middle ear infection that it's basically normal?

Also ear infections do hurt like f*ck but when the eardrum bursts, it's really bad when it does but then rapidly becomes merely uncomfortable because the pressure is released.

It's no fun having an ear infection but it's weird to hear it talked about as some kind of horror story - did this guy not have ear infections as a kid? I know not everyone has it chronically (though it's hardly unusual) but are there really a significant number of adults who've never had a burst eardrum?

I was on the swim team and constantly used "swimmer ear" or something. This guy works in water and doesn't take precautionary measures? Sewage or not, I'd make sure I retained my ability to hear things.
