I never thought there was anything accidental or coincidental about the grandpa arriving to save the day in Lost Boys. He even says something like "That's the problem with this town - too many damn vampires", so he's clearly been in the know all along.

In the know that the vampires existed, not necessarily that the kids were in trouble with them. Or else you'd think he'd have at least offered some advice.


...did anyone else get disappointed that we never saw a vampire implode? (Also really irrationally peeved when they didn't do that speech in the third film.)

On both of these I sort of have my doubts. The first part of the first one, Han was struggling with his choice the whole movie. The second part of the first one, Luke was like "I'm gonna go check out this weird shit I saw" and Han Solo is like "all right, just check in" and then Luke does not check in. That seems like a solid reason to follow up on him. And the second one I'm pretty sure Yoda had a hand in Luke finding him.

Marcuse? Your thoughts?
