5 Insane Stunts From The Craziest Record Label Of All-Time

http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-insane-st ... -all-time/

So this appears to be (unless I'm mistaken) the first article by Nathan Rabin. I thought it was pretty good in how it examined some of the dumber decisions of Casablanca Records, but I have one tiny peeve: it made a Ringo Starr sucks joke. HE ONLY MESSED UP TWO GODDAMN TAKES, I MEAN COME O----
*gets tranquilized*
Anyways, before I go sleepy bye, discuss...

My train is swimming in the piano, mommie.

Yes, and I have no regrets.

And yeah Nathan, there was. The author called Frehley and Criss "Ringo Starr level musicians" in regards to their lack of talent (which is also dumb because Frehley was arguably the most talented out of Kiss). Other then some editing mistakes, though, it was a good article.

That was a joke??? I thought it was saying that Frehley and Criss were really good because Ringo was good.

That whole thing with Ringo reminded me of when someone once was putting the blame on Pete Best's firing on Lennon being an asshole and simply that, and while Lennon being an asshole looks like one of those things certain in life like death and taxes, it seems that actually it was because Brian Epstein stated that they have to get a better drummer instead of Pete Best or there won't be a record. At that point in time Ringo was already a star in Liverpool, while the Beatles had been playing in dingy cellar bars in Hamburg. Also, if you've heard the Beatles' records with Best at Decca, it arguably comes off as bad, or at least very inadequate to the band's sound.

Either way, Frehley and Criss weren't really replaced on the records until around 1979. Criss ended up sitting out on most of Dynasty because of a hand injury (and drinking his body weight in alcohol). Plus, Frehley kinda just stopped contributing around that same time. Unless he wrote the song, he probably didn't play. Hell, GENE didn't even contribute a lot of bass by that time.

Either way, I like Kiss. They give one hell of a show. Plus, they weren't the only band that didn't have every member play on every song. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones did it all the time.
