Number five isn't really all that surprising, since
Demodex folliculorum (eyelash mites) have been known for a long time.
The disturbing thing is that at least with
D. folliculorum their presence on your face was essentially a Schroedinger's cat situation: up until you're around 50, the majority of people don't have them, and even in really old people not everybody has eyelash mites. According to the article; 100% of people have
D. brevis, and that
is disturbing.
I tried calling the world's greatest exterminator after reading this article, but unfortunately he happens to believe that the presence arthropods on one's face is highly beneficial.
