ILoveRadio.de -- streaming radio from Germany (with no commercials, thank you very much) is now playing Rihanna's "Stay". I must say, I do like that song.

Never listened to Rihanna until about a year ago, on this "radio station".

That Macklmore just had a song on. I quickly found the "shopping" song annoying and was pleasantly surprised that the "Cant Hold Us" (?) song is pretty good. Reminds me of Buck 65 from eastern Canada (has his own show on CBC Radio 2 as well).

And now it's Katy Perry's California Girls. I find her annoying to watch but (this shocks me as a former pop music hater), I find her song somewhat catchy and not a bad singer. Go figure.

Saviour Machine - Force of the Entity (progressive metal, off their self-titled album)

I'm going to have to listen to that one; have you heard Hugh Laurie's version of it (off his album Let Them Talk)?

It's actually how I discovered this track! I really like what he does.

Army - Ben Folds Five

Discovered Ben Folds Five a few months ago, they were never big anywhere I lived. Also, their new album is amazing (The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind).

"Losing My Religion" - REM

I usually listen to this station: http://www.181.fm/playing.php?station=181-eagle

The video for this song used to scare the hell out of me when I was a kid.

I remember watching R.E.M.'s video for the first time on MTV. There was a lot of talk about subliminal messages and stuff, but my first reaction to it was thinking, "Oh, so Michael Stipe's gay." (There was no outrage or concern in the thought; it was along the same lines as "Oh, this ice cream is almond-flavored.") I still love the song, the video, and the Stipe, though I've never "gotten" it.

{Edit: Since I pimp his work elsewhere, I should mention the video seemss influenced by Gabriel Garcia Marquez's story "Un senor muy vejo con unas alas enormes" among countless other influences.]

It's always in the last place you look for it, unless you're the kind of person who keeps looking for it after you've found it.

Laura Veirs is amazing. Also, earlier I was totally getting down to "Symphony of Destruction" by Megadeath.
