I was originally going to express a mistrust of companies like what I assumed E. W. Scripps was, as I assumed it was one of these new social media clickbait conglomerates - like Gawker, or Demand, who previously owned Cracked - but it turns out Scripps is a proper, massive media conglomerate that has existed since 1878, so I'm actually slightly impressed. Also, this appears to be their first foray into website ownership, or at least a website of this popularity, so that's interesting.
Overall, I imagine things won't change much. But if anything this might mean a decrease in clickbait.
Of course Sod's Law says that, now that I've expressed optimism about this, tomorrow will see a Nicholas Pell article (I'm horrified to discover I actually still experience real frustration thinking about that guy after however long it's been, which is so much worse because that's exactly what he wanted!).
