Matthew Notch wrote:Because of this article, I made my first post on PWoT. In it I talked about my desire to start a food truck, my desire to release an album, and my desire to help my wife improve her garden. I am now closer and closer to starting that food truck, I have released two albums and an EP (if you think this shameless plugging is bad, you're all going to hate my ass by the time this year is over...), and my wife... has more or less moved on to raising ducks and chickens BUT! We are currently hatching our first clutch of chicks!

After that post, I got into PWoT more, only personally chided once but definitely a little irritated by people's bandwagon attacks on newer users. But at some point my posts started to argue in favor of the comment section, and that was one of the many events that came together to create this forum, which I also joined, moderated for a while, and have settled down exclusively with.

So I don't think the article is all thaaaat bad. After all, in a lot of ways I did take fuller ownership of my life after I read it.

Plug away, bro. Remember, I'm the guy posting about the pornographic film company he's in the beginning stages of building and plugging it here (when the topic fits of course). To me it seems better to plug and shill to people who have some things in common and if we're here, we all have at least a few things in common. You don't try to sell a Scandinavian Death Metal demo during an Easter Mass but at even a pop rock type show (say Poison) it's close enough to the same type fans to give it a try.

But to bring it back to taking ownership of your lives, here's something they left out that is the most important thing to remember. No excuses. If you screw up, admit it and move on. Don't blame other factors. If you did things right, you have every reason to be proud of it and brag about it. If you gain weight, don't blame something else (unless you do have a legit medical condition) just as if you lose weight, you did it, not the method (the tool if you will) you used, it's all YOU. Just remember that good or bad, what you do, create or destroy is on you and then you are owning your life.

So now class, go out and KICK ASS out there in the world! WE have the power to make it and ourselves better, so JFDI (Just Fucking Do It)!

Nah, I'm pretty sure that's the perfect time to sell a death metal album. Gotta bump that Satanism at a church.
