I typed a rather long, morose reflection on this subject (it's kind of a sore point for me after reading "To Be a Friend is Fatal"), but I scrapped my diatribe in favor of something more direct:

We are super shitty to military interpreters. Read this article about one of our interpreters, then (if you've means) donate to a charity that is trying to help more translators get over here, and actually providing them with basic necessities our government overlooks: https://web.charityengine.net/default.aspx?tsid=5274.

We aren't just super shitty to interpreters.

We're kinda shitty to everyone involved in the military.

Wait, what's that? You say you have PTSD? Well surely it wasn't that bad. What's that? You're suicidal? Are you sure you're not just sure of the recital? Hmmmmm?

Oh you're pushing this. Well let's just boot you for disconduc- fuck. You recorded everything?

So, the lesson here is to record everything and make a deal about it or you'll get bulldozed.
