I went outside at first break and there was a storm coming up right then. So of course there's a dark line of clouds all spinning and dropping. Nope, didn't get afraid one bit.
I've lived all but 3 1/2 years of my life living in south western Missouri or eastern Kansas. I've never seen a tornado. Not even one. I've seen the damage from straight line winds or micro bursts, but they've never affected where I lived. In Joplin, the micro burst hit an area about ten blocks away. There was one in Lawrence, but I had moved to Johnson County about 1 month prior. I lived in Joplin for about 5 years. You might remember them from the 2011 tornado. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Joplin_tornado There were warnings a lot and even reports of a tornado that touched down at the airport. About 8 miles away. Aside from some brutal storms and those two events, Nothing happened.
And to think that people scoffed when I told them how much I paid for this magic rock that keeps tornadoes away.
