I assumed that would be a song from Miss Saigon. I just googled it, and it's a Billy Joel song.
I'm listening to it, and how do you get that stuck in your head?

Fuck!
I retract that statement in full.
I woke up with the chorus in my head this morning, and even a couple hours of Creedence Clearwater Revival couldn't keep it out.

Damn you Gendry! Also: Damn you Billy Joel!
Seriously, how is such a simple melody so damn catchy?

Just in case it got lost in all that, this is the part I'm disagreeing with. It seems to me that you're defining a "true fetishist" as someone with a "fetishistic disorder." I'll grant that not all those terms are defined as well as I'd like, but I'm not seeing anything that agrees with this usage. Instead I'm seeing misuse of the word, and a maligning of fetishists.

And to be clear, while I find the idea of a person having a fetish for someone missing a limb pretty weird, and kinda creepy, I don't think it's necessarily a problem. I only consider it an issue if it: a). Meets the criteria for fetishistic disorder b). Causes the person to mistreat the amputee for whom they have a fetish (which arguably could fall under point A, but I felt was important enough to warrant a mention anyway).

Are you saying people who cannot be aroused without thinking about or acting out their fetish have a "fetishistic disorder?" I don't agree. That wouldn't necessarily cause enough problems to qualify as a disorder.

No, I am not. Though I can see how my last paragraph is ambiguous on that point. I'm saying it's only fetishistic disorder if it causes psychological distress or negative effects in their life, as per the the the criteria in the DSM-V.

I would be providing them with something they really really want but can't easily find, and that puts me in a much better position in the relationship. Relationships are all about controlling people, so this is pretty much ideal.

The only issue is if the fetishist regards the object of their fetish as nothing more than a source of fetish fulfillment. However, that is also a potential issue in any non fetish relationship. People without fetishes are perfectly capable of objectifying their partners. People with fetishes are capable of regarding partners as human.

This isn't really on topic but it does have to do with a woman trying to use a fetish to gain more traction on me. I've known this girl a long time online, she's drop dead gorgeous, I mean, she looks like Paige from WWE mixed with Megan Fox. The only problem is, she lives in England and I live in the US. Well, we've been talking for a while rather candidly and she has told me she wants to move here. When she told me that, I had to finally tell her that getting to know her over the last two years, that I loved her. She told me the same thing. Why someone like her would be into me is a mystery but she said that she has never met anyone as caring, sweet, kind, etc... in her life, that she has felt from day 1 that she thought I was her soul mate. Anyway, we were talking after that and we got into the kinks we're into. Nothing out of the ordinary really, nothing that would make George Takai say "Oh My!" to, you know. Then I told her my biggest one is glasses on a woman for different reasons: I love looking into a woman's eyes and seeing them enlarged by the lenses, it gives the woman a kind of "puritanical' look (probably the wrong term but you get my drift) sort of a librarian/teacher look and for other reasons when the woman is looking up at me if you get my drift. This was last Monday I believe, yeah, it was before RAW came on (we're both huge wrestling fans, so we chat during it weekly).

Wed. morning rolls around and I get online and see an email from her. It's titled "Just got back and look what I got for you!" I open it up and she had gone to an eye doctor and got prescription glasses even though her eyesight was pretty good. She had a little blurriness in one eye but never went because she thought guys hated girls with glasses. She sent me a few private pics showing them off and then asked if I loved her more.

It was like she was trying to increase my feelings about her by getting something that turns me on. I had to explain to her that I loved them on her, i loved her without them, too. But seeing as though she did need them a bit, it was good that she got them because if she does move here, she wouldn't be able to get a DL without them. But yeah, it was funny that she was trying to bribe me with my "fetish" (if it even is a fetish). Just proves though that in reality, women still hold all the power in relationships.

It does in Japan, at least.

It could be. Or that she feels vulnerable having opened up to you and wants to do something to make herself as attractive as she can for you.

Or she's just one of those people who actually pays attention when the person they care about talks about what they like, and then tries to do the things that make that person happy, because it makes them happy too.

I don't think the problem is that the fetishists would watch her per say, or the fact that there is an audience, the impropriety would come more from the fact that she is recovering and readjusting from a traumatic accident and the porn people could have caused her more emotional distress.

Some people would want to, and that's fine, but I can also see others being offended. The offer would be shocking at the very least.
