This is actually a very good article, but two things are pissing me off in a pretty dark way. First of all, what the fuck with the title change? How dare they turn the sexual harassment this girl has endured into the click-baity focus of her story? This is a new fucking low and I really don't know how to deal with the disgust I'm feeling.
Secondly, while most of the comments are appropriately supportive with a few lighthearted puns here and there, far too many (which would be any number greater than zero) have taken it upon themselves to announce their complete lack of sympathy for people who get hurt doing stupid things. At least two people have "nominated" her for a Darwin Award, even though she was neither killed nor sterilized by the accident. I realize that hateful trolls are just part of the internet landscape, but taunting and mocking an injured child - she was 17 when this happened - flies right over my threshold of bullshit tolerance. This is the sort of thing I would actually punch a motherfucker for saying out loud in my physical presence. What the fuck is wrong with humanity?
In any event, Ms. Beninati's story is actually a very inspiring and well-written read, but I'm ready to take a ball bat to Title Twat and everyone who thinks it's OK to say we shouldn't waste medical resources trying to help people like her. Ironically, saying shit like that in front of somebody's mother is a great way to end up needing a mouthful of stitches and a couple of shiny new porcelain teeth. Just... ugh!
