I lot of people were complaining about that one, but I do believe it falls into the category of "jokes".

And, argue all you want, its a true fact. No panda. Not terrifying, but, you know. Demand Media naming algorithms.

So, now that people are posting, has anyone else noticed that since that disastrous food one, these aren't all that well-done? Heck, most of the "shocking" statistics are apparently not true, after reading the comments. Especially #1.

Something made the photoplasty people afraid of everything from fish bones to Twitter. I wonder what it was.

I've got to agree with this. I love these factplasties to bits, but ever since the Food one, they've been going down in quality.

I'm sad to say that this plasty did not live up to the name, being somewhat slim on both the terrifying and true fronts. I really liked the fact ones when they were occasional, now that its becoming regular, the quality is gone to shit and I get the impression no one actually fact checks them. Such a shame. And cracked really just needs to hire someone who's good at naming articles, they miss the mark more often than not.

Ignoring the title question, I'd have to say that my favorite entry was actually the Panda Express one. It's the only one I laughed about. The reactions I had to most of the others was more along the lines of "Well, people like Wal-Mart." Most of the "true" parts were also only true-for-a-given-value-of-true (like, good enough for a photoplasty).

#1 is probaably the worst entry from my point of view--typos, a lack of humor, a lack of terrifying, and a lack of facts (a zdnet article from 2010 is about the best source available for the numbers, and that was clearly written by someone who doesn't get Chinese law)--just anti-hipsterism hipsterism.

(For the record, I own no Apple products, don't particularly like them, and have no strong opinions about Steve Jobs. OK, fair, I don't like turtle-necks myself.)

It's always in the last place you look for it, unless you're the kind of person who keeps looking for it after you've found it.
