Yeah, shekel is the currency of Israel, but Woodward isn't from Israel, so I don't see any innocent reason why Eric Trump would say "shekels" instead of "dollars".

I find it beliveable that he picked up the term from reading far-right websites and doesn't even know about its associations.

Mitch McConnell on Kavanaugh at the Values Voters conference:

"You’ve watched the fight, you’ve watched the tactics, but here’s what I want to tell you: In the very near future, judge Kavanaugh will be on the United States Supreme Court. So my friends, keep the faith, don’t get rattled by all of this ― we’re gonna plow right through it and do our job."

Great choice of words, considering the situation.

(Values Voters, oh God).

There's a segment on the British panel show Mock the Week, where the host suggest a topic and comedians come in with funny suggestions. One of the subjects were "Ill Advised Things to Say in Court" and Mark Watson made this joke: "Well if stabbing a man makes me guilty, I'm guilty!"

I only bring this up because Rodrigo Duterte (president of the Philippines, all-around homicidal maniac) basically said it in real life. I quote from the Telegraph:

Mr Duterte, who is known for his provocative, expletive-ridden statements, made his surprise confession on Thursday while speaking to government officials at the presidential palace when he said he had challenged the military to remove him if they were not satisfied with his leadership.

“I told the military, what is my fault? Did I steal even one peso?” Mr. Duterte said. “My only sin is the extrajudicial killings.”

Apparently John Cornyn compared the accusations against Kavanaugh to the "McCartney hearings," which you can hear right at the start of this video. I don't can't decide whether to be angry at the analogy he tried to invoke or laugh at the visual of Paul McCartney in front of the Senate.

That band was on the run for a reason! The public needs to know why!

Scott Wagner, Republican gubernatorial candidate in Pennsylvania got quite upset over Governor Tom Wolf's negative ads. So upset that he made a Facebook Live video where he said this:

Well, Governor Wolf, let me tell you what, between now and Nov. 6, you better put a catcher’s mask on your face, because I’m going to stomp all over your face with golf spikes.

Golf Digest magazine noted that he "didn't specify whether he meant metal or soft spikes".

I mean, in context that is clearly metaphorical, but it still comes across as a bit unhinged.

When you complain about negative ads, talking about stomping on the face of your opponent doesn't give the best impression, even as a metaphor.

Cue the "you're racist because you assume she meant a black person" reaction.

This will probably tip the scales in her favor. Mississippi.
