There is nothing after death.
I wish there was. I would even take reincarnation. Even after all the horrible shit I've done in my life.
But there isn't. You live and you die. Nothing after that.
Sorry, ghosts don't exist. Neither does heaven and hell.

What I believe is that we simply cease to be. What I'd *like* to believe in is reincarnation at random. Another chance to go around and experience all the world holds.

Honestly? I think I do. Why? I don't really know. Maybe its because I was raised in a christian environment. Even though I've given up on religion, I can't help feeling this way.

Hopefully it isn't the christian after-life, because suicidees go to hell I believe. :p

Not at the moment no. It remains a strong enough possibility I find myself thinking about the afterlife though. Don't worry about me too much, no one else does anyway.

I will always worry about you, used to say the same thing to my own friends (back when I had friends).

That simply isn't true. There are a lot of people here who care about you and worry about you, and we want you to reach out when you're feeling bad. We want to keep you around.

(Presumably, the only way to stop a bad guy with a transgender-friendly privacy law is a good guy with a transgender-friendly privacy law, and thus transgender-friendly privacy law rights need to be enshrined in the Constitution as well)

I care enough about you to send you my email and phone number, which you are welcome to use ANYTIME you need someone to talk to. It doesn't matter if you call me collect at seven in the morning, I will wake my ass up, accept the charges, and listen to whatever you have to say.

Re: Do you believe in life after death?

I believe in life after death. Just not your life after death. I'm sure given the projected amount of time till the death of the universe, at some point, a good percentage of you is going to be part of something that is alive.

Hey, with all that time they might even invent a way to bring you back. No real reason anyone would, unless they invent it in the near future and your family is still around. But hey, could happen.

I don't really believe in the afterlife because I've seen quite a few traumatic brain injuries and watched people dramatically change who they are as a person because of them. I figure there ain't enough person not in that brain to be in a soul.

I guess if I believed in anything I'd believe in this. I know Avi poo-poos it though.

Nope, wish there was though.

If you're lucky and rich, nano-machines will take off and rich humans will become immortal.

Longer of life, but not immortal. Our paltry handful of decades is so little that we can't even grasp what immortality would really mean. If machines could sustain your consciousness, they couldn't do so indefinitely. You may get centuries, even millennia with good maintenance, but even ten, twenty or a hundred human lifespans back to back are the blink of an eye in the grander scheme of things. The notion of living on with no conceivable end is frankly beyond ridiculous. Stars die.
Come nano-machines or magical elixirs, you will certainly die.
