I'm probably from Honolulu, or Jersey City or Newark/Paterson. I have hotspots right the way round the edges of the map though.

I've been placed at Yonkers, New York and Honolulu with some hot spots in the northern region.

I was put at Baltimore instead of Yonkers when I did the test again and was given different questions.

I got Providence, Worcester, and Boston. It makes sense because my soul is divided into 3 horcruxes located in those 3 cities. Also, I was born in Providence and I currently live in a suburb outside Boston.

What is with the terms people use for rain while the sun is shining? "The devil is beating his wife?" "Monkey's wedding?" "The wolf is giving birth?"

Holy mother of Chirst! And I was fool to think the weirdest about Americans was the imperial system (the distance a oxen can walk unfed before dying*? I mean, seriously? I can get behind using stuff you find in the floor to measure with, but that just sounds ridiculous).

Those expressions doesn't even make a goddamn ounce (IMPERIAL SYSTEM) of sense!

Little foolish me.

*Edit: Actually was referring to a Furlong, the distance a team of oxen could plough without resting. Still sounds ridiculous.

Clearly "The wolf is giving birth" is a mangled reference to Fenrir, the wolf that will slay Odin at the death/rebirth of the world after the terrible Fimbulwinter.

Mmmm, mythical.

Man created logic and because of that was superior to it. Logic He gave unto me, but no more. The tool does not describe the designer. More than this I do not choose to say. More than this you have no need to know.

So whenever rains, Americans believe they are being showered with the amniotic fluid of a giant male wolf?

That's a Warhammer 40k level of senseless badassness. But still senseless.

Come on, anyone creative enough to justify the other three?

Nobody else does it, but I call that a CCR event.

You know, because of that song that says "I wanna know have you ever seen the rain comin' down on a sunny day?"

That's practically the only kind of rain we get during the summer.

I notice that a lot of us from outside the USA are getting Yonkers, New York and Honolulu. I wonder if it's because those accents/lexicons are the closest to standard/UK English.

Honolulu is outside of the mainland so perhaps they seem to not have experienced the same change the mainland has in terms of english. New york may just be home to a lot of immigrants who speak the english closest to the queen unlike the rest of the country and such immigrants might have even affected how the locals speak.

This was an odd test for me, because not only am I Canadian, but I tend to voluntarily reject some of my own regional dialect. I call it "soda" because "pop" is too damn ambiguous. I say "catsup" because it contains "cats" and "sup", and that's just nifty. Furthermore, thanks to my mother, I'm one of those people who pronounces "both" like there's an L in it. Bolth. So honestly, I don't know that I sound like much of anyone.

It says I'm Californian, but primarily because I use the word "firefly".

I’I've always thought that I speak with a generalized northern American accent and I was right.

The fact that I sound like someone from Rochester or Buffalo makes sense as they are just across the lake and are not extremely unique accents.

Boston however, just doesn't sound right.

It guessed, quite accurately, that I was from San Antonio. I'll admit that I'm slightly unnerved...
