Some people are pretty set against the Washington Redskins using a term like redskin as a nickname for their team because it's a racial slur. I am totally ambivalent about it now but that's part of the reason I couldn't get into being a fan of theirs as a child living less than a mile from D.C.

There are sportscasters, radio networks, possibly other broadcasters and outlets that only refer to the team as the Washington football team.

So that's a problem but nooooooobody brings up the fact that there's a chewing tobacco called Redman. That gets a pass. You can go to redman.com and it doesn't even mention the rapper. Nobody even notices their ads at gas stations.

I don't care or anything. Just saying.

Idk how any other country is doing in regards to the health of their electrical grid. But uh mine, the United States, this place has a bunch of chicken wire running between fence posts. A programming bug and high demand from Northern Ohio along with poorly trimmed trees was what KO'd it back in the early aughts.

I'm super confident that we can just ditch gasoline and have 1-4 auto-plugs in every driveway.

So I've seen how Paris plans on banning petrol powered cars Peugeots (nailed it!) from city streets. I've read articles about California wanting to do the same. I believe London is doing this as well. Yet I don't see any talk about upgrading the electrical grid. With that in mind all I can say is:

What if Smaug had just toasted Bilbo and taken the ring from him? It's the only one known to be able to survive dragonfire so he would have recognised immediately what it was. A dragon with the power of the one ring would be the end of Middle Earth, surely. Or maybe he would just hang out in Erebor treasuring it forever.

Uncertain. It was only said to be "said that dragonfire could" melt the lesser rings - Gandalf didn't commit himself to saying it was definitely so, and he qualified that "there is not now any dragon left on earth in which the old fire is hot enough." Although I suppose it's not impossible that Smaug was the last, there's no evidence of that.

If so, are toe socks like thongs?

Can people have Jack Handey-esque shower thoughts in the rain, or is being naked and alone more integral to the process than being pelted by water? Granted, I'm rarely naked and alone in the rain (being naked outdoors draws a crowd, usually a rather unsupportive bunch, at least on my street)... further practical investigation may be required. We can dismiss the singing angle, as Gene Kelly jauntily opined that singin' in the rain provides a glorious feeling, yet not much in the way of deep thoughts.
