I find it amusing that Doc Logan is one of only two people who upvoted this.

Clearly everyone's favorite Irish general malpractitioner is relieved that there will be something that makes your grave worth robbing. Well, that or he plans on poking around in your body while you're still alive and under conscious sedation.

Either way, I'd suggest being very concerned, my dear pink space buffalo.

I, for one, enjoy the thoughts of my guts co-mingling with the innards of other people. Seems about the only way that's gonna happen, anyway.

In all likelihood a lot of my organs wouldn't be useful anyway. Very fat and veryhappy with it.

I'm not! .... Although oddly enough I do donate blood so ... I'm not sure what that's about. Meh, I'm a mercurial fellow.

I am. I'm not going to need my organs once I'm dead; if anyone else can use them, why not? I'm also signed up for the bone marrow registry, and I've donated blood twice.

(Presumably, the only way to stop a bad guy with a transgender-friendly privacy law is a good guy with a transgender-friendly privacy law, and thus transgender-friendly privacy law rights need to be enshrined in the Constitution as well)

I used to be an organ donor, I'm currently not because of all the medications I'm on. Here's the thing-even if you're not an organ donor immediately after death your state has to call CORE or whomever your state reports to. They then have to ask your family if you're willing to donate or rule you out because of fulminant cancer w/e.

So yeah. I think more people and their families should but I don't want to give anyone my treacherous tissue. By god if my body won't function normally for me, what makes you think it won't seek to overthrow a normal human body?!

I'm also not able to give blood d/t my medication. So. yeah.

You're aware that you're supposed to donate your own blood right?

Though seriously, I haven't donated blood yet. Tried trice.

First time I didn't know about the needle pricking my finger and freaked out, to the point I got light-headed. (There's not a lot of nerves in my elbow pit but there are plenty in my fingertips.)

Second time I knew in advance how much the manual cuff they use hurts compared to an automatic cuff, and because I'm fat they had to try three times before they got an accurate reading (apparently manual cuffs don't just hurt more, they also don't work well on fat people), by which point I had a too-high blood pressure reading.

I always have a normal blood pressure at the doctor's office, and did again the next time I had an automatic cuff measurement, so apparently being cuffed thrice with a manual cuff freaks me out enough to raise my blood pressure into the "too high" range, and unless I can either get over the anticipated pain or find a blood bank that uses automatic cuffs, I likely won't be able to donate blood for the foreseeable future.

So, I can't donate my skeleton to an art school? Because that's something I seriously want to do.

I also want to donate my body to science, but I need to look into how that's done.

I am. I've also donated over 200 liters of blood plasma, which replenishes much more quickly than whole blood and can be donated up to twice a week.

I donate blood.

I used to have the box checked on my ID for organ donation but changed it. For some reason, the notion that we as a nation are so starved for viable organs makes me think that some unscrupulous practices would be done.

Meaning, I might not be entirely dead before they start harvesting my corneas and liver.

Or maybe that's an overreaction to Michael Chricton's Coma and the movie Turistas .
