I just read a reddit thread about how fucked the housing market in London is. The whole thing just makes me think that if you're worried about what immigration might do to the value of your house, you're probably not even living there in the first place and just waiting for a buyer to flip the property too. And that eventual buyer is not really planning on living there either and is hoping to find another buyer to flip the property to.

Btw, I'm Dutch. Anyone interested in buying some tulips off me? I have so many I don't know what to do with them.

Not the mail, but the equally cancerous Sun caught my eye today.

I dunno. Crime is up 13%, violent crime even more so, and they're painting their nails to virtue signal? The BBC is running the furore as a story too.

When it's uniformed police officers, I would argue that this kind of thing has more meaning than the equivalent in inactivists. If in a very generous mood, one could describe it as the legal authorities showing awareness of and action against a relatively low profile, insidious crime in cultivating public vigilance for it.
Whether or not it will actually help against slavery, I don't think it's really credible to claim that this stunt has any impact on the force's ability to do its job, as was implied by two of the examples of online criticism given on the BBC's article.
Not a well handled public awareness campaign, I'll concede, but hardly worthy of sneering headlines in a national newspaper. It's a PR failure at worst.

I posted it in this thread already, though that was over two years ago.

Damn, I should have checked.

I found several other Daily Mail songs as well. First three I'm posting because I liked them, last one I'm posting because it's there.

I think that the best of them is this one by Amanda Palmer, which is funny but also NSFW because of nudity.

I've never been much of a fan or Palmer but really like this one. I'm not sure if it's the lyrics, the nudity, or the way she wrote it to a tune of a waltz.

There's also this one about cancer, to the tune of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire"

And this one which is an Irish rebel song about the Daily Mail. It's my favorite, but also I really like Irish rebel songs.

There's also a Radiohead song about the Daily Mail, which kind of just lulls me to sleep but I might as well post it.

The lyrics don't help either
The moon is high up on a mountain
The lunatics have taken over the asylum
Waiting on the rapture

Singing, "We're here to keep your prices down
We'll feed you to the hounds
To the daily mail, to get up, together"

You made a pig's ear, you made a mistake
Paid off security and got through the gate
You got away with it but we lie in wait, eh
Eh, eh

Where's the truth what's the use
I'm hanging around lost and found
And when you're here innocent
Fat chance, no plan
No regard for human life

You'll keep time, you've no right
You're fast to lose, you will lose
You jumped the queue, you're back again

President for life, love of all
The flies in the sky, the beasts of the earth
The fish in the sea have lost command
