This is a double-edged sword. Beto was "charismatic" in part because he was straightforward and didn't mince words or play political games. If Beto decided to play the usual political games, to be more centrist and try to please everyone, it's hard to know whether that would have made him do better or worse.

It reminds me of the three takes that I heard about the 2016 election:

1) Democrats need to move left to energize their base
2) Democrats need to move right to go to the center, since the Republicans moved right and left it open
3) Doesn't matter what policy positions are chosen, Democrats need charismatic and inspiring candidates.

This seems like the same kind of discussion, with the same lack of conclusion.

"If it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them; but the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?"

Don't link drop, Crim, come on.

I think it would be hilarious if Mia ended up winning after the President mocked her.

JamishT was a heck of a guy,
With a devilish twinkle in his eye.
With his hand-picked flowers,
And his feel-good powers,
He made all the girls blush and sigh.

You know what's even funnier than that scenario? The fact that Young Kim is at Freshman Orientation.

Forget it, Deathclaw. It's Mississippi.
