Postby julyjack73 » Fri Dec 12, 2014 5:51 am

Are there any rules regarding bumping old threads?

I think as long as you are just bumping them it's fine. If you're bumping and humping them, Doc Logan will need to have a look at ya.

But then again, I'm no mod, I'm just a guy looking for a steady broad.

I'm really not helping anyone right now, especially myself.

JamishT was a heck of a guy,
With a devilish twinkle in his eye.
With his hand-picked flowers,
And his feel-good powers,
He made all the girls blush and sigh.

I think at some point it was said that we prefer new threads to reviving dead ones. But if it was an awesome thread...

I guess it should be ok if it's a PBY forum game or if there's an update to a CAASS story.

Oh? Huh? Whut?

Yeah, so I tend to prefer using the old threads instead of creating entirely new ones about the same subject. I know a lot of places go mental about necroing threads, but to my mind it's neater to use an existing thread than have six "let's lose weight together" or "TIL" threads knocking about. I would say that I'd prefer any thread that's resurrected to be because the person performing the ritual has something to add to the discussion or something to continue the joke if it's not a serious thread.

For example, we had a thread in CAASS about Hungary that we discussed the situation there in a long while ago, recently Aquila had something extra to add because the situation changed, so used the same thread for this. I personally think there's nothing wrong with that. I'd be less pleased with "bump".

However, I personally wouldn't mind creating a new thread about an old subject if the old thread is old enough.

*resists the urge to go and make a bunch of new threads on old topics*

Necromancy is a-ok.

Necrophilia? not so much.

Funnily enough, I think we have at least one other thread about this very subject.

Are you telling me julyjack forgot to check to see if we had a bumping old threads thread before creating this one?

You have to bump the old bump threads before creating new bump threads.

Where did you think all these Max_User Connections were coming from?

Hey! I've said time and time again that none of that was my fault. It was a weird time, okay? and I was under a lot of pressure.

I think we do. i might be about eating corpses though, not just humping them. Can't remember.

I don't want to talk about my dinner dates anymore.
