Re: Open Link in a New Tab?

The link destination depends in part on the BBcode used to provide it. I'm pretty sure there's a specific code you can use to link to another tab, but the syntax escapes me at this time. Lemme test something out...

AHA found it:

[TabLink]{URL}[/TabLink]

You can also ctrl-click a link in most browsers to have it open in a new tab. Configuring it such that all links on the forum automatically opened in a new tab, depending on your settings, is something that could possibly be done, but it's not really the kind of thing the forum should be handling.

Middle click is also a standard shortcut for 'open in new tab' and middle clicking tabs closes them, For people who don't like mixing mouse and keyboard usage.
Some people dislike having to change input style on the run, which is why a lot of people memorize all the keyboard shortcuts in the world.
It's also why people hate Windows 8 so much. The start screen takes over screen space for the short period of time you have to pay attention to it.
It still supports the poweruser usage of Start>type program name>Enter, so I never really noticed a difference, which someone who uses mouse and keyboard together would because they have to move more and it becomes slower to do.

WE ARE ALL FLOATING IN THE WINDS OF TIME. BUT YOUR CANDLE WILL FLICKER FOR SOME TIME BEFORE IT GOES OUT -- A LITTLE REWARD FOR A LIFE WELL LIVED. FOR I CAN SEE THE BALANCE AND YOU HAVE LEFT THE WORLD MUCH BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT, AND IF YOU ASK ME, said Death, NOBODY COULD DO ANY BETTER THAN THAT...
