Pets you don't own

Postby cmsellers » Wed Mar 29, 2017 11:55 pm

I'm birdsitting a Senegal for a week, in the understanding that her owner will birdsit my birds at some point in the future. I figured it wasn't quite appropriate to share pictures of her on the "Pets you own" thread (even though I'm not shy about claiming ownership of wild animals), posting someone else's pet there just feels wrong. So I'm starting a thread for pets you don't own but are able to photograph, on the hopes that Grimstone will maybe share pictures of his friend's quaker.

Like most Senegals I've met, she's a really sweet bird, and quite inquisitive. She's more talktative than any parrot I've ever had, likely in part because I never really tried to train my parrots to talk. She mostly says "hello," "hi" and "whatcha doing," but her owner mentioned several other phrases she knows. She tried to "help" me when I was cropping and scaling these images, by renaming them things like "b n jh" and changing the crop tool to various other tools. Currently she's trying to dissect my keyboard to see what's underneath it.

Unfortunately, my birds don't like the Senegal very much, and after my quaker made an attempt to attack her I put her back. Now my quaker jumps off my shoulder and runs back to the cage if I try to put her on my shoulder, and my green-cheek won't even step up. I assume they're boycotting me until the other parrot goes away, but I'll keep trying to get them to persuade them spend time with me even while we have a visitor.

A friend of mine has a cat who was mildly Internet famous a while back. If you've ever seen the video below, this cat belongs to a coworker friend of mine.

I've met this cat and she is very sweet and friendly, and kept my lap warm watching the presidential debates once. She also sheds like crazy, which is unfortunate when you're me and wear a ton of dark-colored clothing.

Do cat colonies count as pets one doesn't own? My mom is a licensed colony caretaker.

This is Ella, my coworker's dog who I got to dogsit while she was away. Ella likes belly rubs and long walks through the park, and is a good protector who likes to sleep next to me while I work on my computer. Ella is a very good girl.

That's super cute.

The pulling the head up and chirping while eating means he's happy, Grimstone. At least, that's what i've been told. I've also been told it means they really like what they're eating.

Praise Jesus, especially when it's sunny outside because Jesus would totally be cool with you praising while you get a nice tan.

Well cmsellers, considering now they are building more and more apartments around the area my garden has become looking quite a bit sweeter for new "tenants".

Because of that I gained a new family, and I figured you might like to see one of my new residents.
