What's worse, the geese or spoiling my post directly below it?

Discus.

And how do you know "geese" isn't a racial slur for Canadians?

Hey! You take that back, eh. Only Canadians can call each other that.

I had a song stuck in my head: "Grace." Here's a version by the Wolfe Tones.

A character on the TV show I'm watching now (Sneaky Pete) just started singing it.

Imagine living in a nice American neighborhood. Your doors are locked, you just pass people who are being to slow, you're able to honk furiously at pedestrians and kids getting in the way of your SUV, your beer is cold, your chicken wings hot, and you stand up for the troops and red-white-an-blue...
Then some Geese polite-up the joint.

Welp, there goes the neighborhood.

I'm not using slang I'm using the word "geese" to get across the point that there are multiple goose birds.

If that slang term exists it is not common enough for me to know about it.

But I'll start using it if it's effectively offensive enough. I don't know how to insult Canadians though because they're so polite and internally proud that any shots get deflected. I mean ha ha maple syrup, hockey, "bacon", legal weed, good health care, snow, and Snow.

The Austin Public Library has upped the max holds you can have from five to seven. I'm glad they increased the limit, but seven seems like a weird choice.

Why is LinkedIn sending me "what you've missed" updates when I've logged on almost every day for the past two weeks and twice today? I don't think I've literally ever been this active on LinkedIn before.

The point of claiming that the Crusades were a war of defense was never to claim that the Crusades were a war of defense, but to criticize the idea that Western Civilization (and Christians) are inherently aggressive and evil as a result of a one thousand year old event. Within the span of a thousand years, or ~300 years prior, Arabs were generally not settled outside of Saudi Arabia and Islam spread into formerly Christian areas by military aggression.

That is, its not supposed to be a literal claim, but to counter-criticize, that if the time scale of blame and moral culpability is one thousand years, perhaps the morality of the actions of the supposed victim party can be examined on that same time scale (but the only thing between yourself and that conclusion is either ignorance or a sort of dishonesty).

The Crusades are very rarely seriously used as an example of why Christians are inherently "evil", and similarly I don't think anyone who isn't quite stringently anti-Christian believes modern Christians can be considered culpable - it's generally brought up to point out that Christianity has also been used to justify massive violent acts in the past, and usually against people who are using modern atrocities to suggest that Islam is inherently evil in a way Christianity is not.

Surely a better counterargument if someone actually is suggesting modern Christians are somehow culpable is just to say that no-one should be considered culpable for the actions of their people hundreds of years ago, not make confusing, apparently intentionally ahistorical claims about those actions.

Almost two years after my old crown cracked and I had to have the base of my tooth removed, I finally have a new crown affixed to my newish implant. It looks exactly like a real tooth, but it feels like I have a sizeable foreign object stuck between my teeth, which, I mean...

Youtube keeps recommending weird stuff. Plesantly weird stuff, some of which was once uploaded years ago. Stuff like this:

I suspect that "The Algorithm" has changed.

For me, I wouldn't call it "pleasantly weird." I was wondering why YouTube recently suggested a video by Steven Crowder. Also, kind of offended.

I wish I'd kept notes on all the things that youtube recommended that I found to be laughable misses. Sometimes, er often, I get recommended UK versions of channels but I think that's because I read BBC News.

Allergy season is on full blast here. As in we're sitting outside enjoying the nice day and thought the neighbors across the street were grilling. But uh, smoke is thicker than that. It was like a green fog moving through. We could see the wind blow through and just carry so much pollen off the trees. My wife picked up her phone and the screen had a fine cover of yellow-green dust.
