Things that are things.

Discussion, in general

Buying the parts to make a custom lego figure and assembling a random character from the spares which somehow works out, creating props and odd looking totems from other spares (including helmet pieces and a spare set of Darth Maul's horns) and finally, visualising a scene to set. I might expand on the custom Garry's Mod play set and Gordon Freeman figure I've ordered and see what fun and workable shit I can come up with. It's a simple creative outlet for me and I'm loving it.

And now I should stop looking at blue light after midnight like a dumbass and get some fucking sleep. I'll never learn.

I got a notification from Facebook today that it was my anniversary of joining the site ... 13 years ago.

How much of my life have I wasted on that site?

Exactly thirteen years by the looks of it.

I have a job interview for a drafting position at Toys "R" Closing 182 Stores Us tomorrow afternoon. Even if I get the job (which may or may not pay a bit more than I was expecting, depending on what they meant), I'm not exactly expecting it to last very long. It's only about five minutes away, and it comes with decent benefits, which would be nice.

My cousin started a website to promote her video producing skills with a name that sounds to me either like a cam site or a lingerie company.

I plucked the soul patch area of my face completely bald using my fingers (when I use tweezers I'm better at not creating unintended bald spots). This is, I believe, the third time I've done this. The hairs there are thicker and shallower-rooted than most of my beard and there's probably fewer than fifty in the entire area.

Having no hair there feels great. But it looks ridiculous. Not quite as ridiculous as the reverse, but then there's very little that looks as ridiculous as a soul patch.

British tv news broadcasters are not shy about showing footage of Emily Davison getting wiped out and killed by a racehorse. Presumably, if something happened far in the past it's not considered controversial to show it on the evening news no matter how grisly it is. As I recall, the modern day coverage of an accident at a race a few years ago cut the footage short of a horse suffering a fatal injury.

Have you considered using a razor?

One of the reasons I grew a beard in the first place is that I have sensitive skin and using a razor results in a ton of red bumps rather than smooth skin. However the reason I plucked at my soul patch area is because I have trichotillomania and plucking it out felt good.

I just applied for a job in some pharmaceutical warehouse. I don't know exactly what it pays, but it seems to have very similar tasks as my current job, just without the retail part. Also it has a consistent schedule and none of my current managers work there, which is nice.

I don't know if I did it because I'm so over working in retail, or the fact that I haven't been in any sunshine for like a week and I'm irritated at everything.

Someone offered to measure my armspan this morning. 2 metres, apparently.

I just told a “computer helpdesk” phone scammer that I only have a typewriter. This amuses me more than I think it should.
