Just know I still have a cold going on.

Will you please read me a bedtime story or nine?

I tried to record the last few pages of The Road by Cormac McCarthy (what better material for a bedtime story than that?) but my chicks kept peeping and my cat started randomly yowling, probably because I wasn't giving her enough attention. Maybe I will try again tomorrow.

Welcome Satan n Stuff.

As a duly appointed representative of TCS, it is my duty to ask you these initial questions:

1.) Who is your favorite Ninja Turtle, and why?

2.) What part of your body would you consider to have the choicest cuts of meat?

And his feel-good powers,
He made all the girls blush and sigh.

This is me, reciting "There is no Frigate Like a Book," by Emily Dickinson.

As I noted here, when I visited Sardis, Horace Smith's version of "Ozymandias" (later renamed "On A Stupendous Leg of Granite, Discovered Standing by Itself in the Deserts of Egypt, with the Inscription Inserted Below" when "Ozymandias" became inextricably associated with the more famous poem by Shelly) really resonated with me.

Sardis is not a desert, but rather resembles Smith's future vision of London; it's a placid and lovely place where wildflowers grow and shepherds graze their flocks among the ruins.

People always recite Shelly's version, and trying to recite Smith's version I finally understand why. I mean yes, Shelly's version is more poetic, both more importantly, Smith wrecks havoc with meter. I finally got a version I pretty much liked after nearly a dozen tries.

The only unfortunate thing is that my computer is very noisy, and removing the noise also reduced the volume of most of my reading, while leaving the inscription parts loudly intact (thus a bit louder than I intended). I tried remastering it, and the results can be found here, but ultimately decided that I like the noise-removed unremastered version best.

I think I enjoy the sound of my voice far too much. This is particularly a problem given how objectively irritating I suspect my voice really is. I mean, my autistic nasality couples with my natural accent to produce what must be the very Yankeeest of Yankee twangs. But man, do I ever love to hear myself speak.

This is so not a good idea. I sound very, very uncertain.

The English one where I reveal my inability for pronunciation.

And The Sanskrit-Tamil-ish one. I am going to be straight with you: It's a religious verse. Yeah.

Toke 8 tries to sound the least robotic as I could. I think it was a Pyhrric victory.

Yeah, sorry, the Long Island isn't too strong in me unless I'm talking to someone else with a strong accent or I've had some beers first.

Actually, maybe I should redo that after I've had a couple.
