There’s been overtime almost every day this week, and they’ve been paying us extra for the past few weeks on top. I expect to be very happy with my next paycheck.

I had a job interview this morning at a company that I had talked to before, and they said they'd let me know in about a week if I got the job. I wasn't sure about it, because one interviewer didn't seem to like me, and they were paying less than I had originally been told ($15-17/hr instead of $18-20). The HR person was busy, so I couldn't talk to her, but she was supposed to call me sometime later today.

The recruiter just called me a few minutes ago and said they were offering me the job at $17.50/hr. After making sure the overtime was voluntary (particularly on weekends), I said yes. I hope this will be a good thing (I mean, I think it will, considering that where I work now is going down the toilet...).

Same as I am now, except with medical coverage.

And yes, for some time at least. Though, I had to move to another city for this job, so it's not really "home" to me yet.

Is that the one where they switched the position on you and you had to learn web dev from scratch?

If so, I'm very happy to say I told you so.

It is my birthday. I bought "The Long Night" (on sale on Steam for like $7), which is a solo survival game, have eaten some strawberry blondies and strawberry shortcake cookies (that I made), and a sleeve of Oreos. Also, I won a round of Fortnite. Overall, not bad!

Happy Birthday, Jamish!

I have to say, I have never heard of strawberry blondies. Sounds like an interesting concept.

The recipe called for pieces of white and milk chocoate and chunks of fresh strawberries. Very delicious!

Looks like the recipe called for white and dark chocolate. But something you might consider trying with this it with ruby chocolate, whose ingredients appear to be a mixture of white chocolate, milk chocolate, and citric acid and which tastes kind of like raspberries. Trader Joe's used to sell it, dunno if they still do. Chocolove, which can be found at most low-rent hippie food stores, also sells it.

One week down at my new job, and I’m not a complete disaster. Mainly because it’s the same as my last job, but with better equipment. But still...

On one hand, I don't like how dependent the 'rona has made me on Amazon. But on the other hand, I've discovered that on Amazon, you can get pretty much anything that comes in multiple colors in purple. There's a lot of things, like trash cans, I wish I'd known this for before purchasing at Target or IKEA, but hey, I just ordered a purple power strip!

When I bought my car last year, I put ~20% of the balance down on a credit card that won’t charge interest until the end of this month. Today, I paid off the last of that balance.

This morning, a Cooper's hawk came into the tree right outside my window. It only stayed for a few minutes, but man, was that cool to see.

I might have a job opportunity. One that pays far more than what I do but requires less physical work. Best thing is I can basically try it out on one of my days off to see if it's something I'd be into.
