Christmas Avatars!

Postby JamesT » Sat Dec 14, 2013 3:50 pm

Alright, it looks like a lot of you have already taken to Christmasifying your computer-faces! So why don't we have a thread where we can show them off?

First up, here's a festive JT! To prepare I've been eating nothing but milk and cookies for the past month. It's made me jolly as all get out but it's also given me a bunch of chest pains. For some reason my doctor has stopped taking my calls, citing something called "natural selection." I think it's something to do with my insurance.

Not sure it's necessary for mine.

EDIT: it's not actually Santa.

I didn't make mine myself (I wish). It's part of a Santa's Reindeer set of animations created by Mel Roach. The rest of the set can be viewed here:

I found mine online. I did not make it.

I may change mine again soon. I have a whole bunch of xmas themed pics saved on my comp. Some nerdy, some not. I have a Christmas Tree Dalek on here, Christmas R2-D2, a flashing santa, etc.

Christmas avatar? I'm not sure it carries the same level of stern authority, but "Deck the halls" and all that!

Man created logic and because of that was superior to it. Logic He gave unto me, but no more. The tool does not describe the designer. More than this I do not choose to say. More than this you have no need to know.

Not so much "stern authority" as "adorable cuteness".

Seeing as the Jewish Christmas tradition is ordering Chinese food, here's some Bearjew takeout.

Mine's not too startling since I've had it since the start of the month (I never know when Christmas actually is given our store advertises it for half a year), but I very cleverly donned a Santa hat on my avatar using shoddy Paint skills.

He's like the real Santa, only he'll flip a coin to decide whether to present a child with a gift or behead them. Just like Christmas at home. It was that or add reindeer antlers but a villain with horns isn't really that Christmassy.

Mine is pretty self explanatory and it's right there! ------>

It's not self-explanatory? Well it's an Amish Santa of course!

JamishT was a heck of a guy,

With his hand-picked flowers,
And his feel-good powers,
He made all the girls blush and sigh.

And what's more, you can now see TCS in glorious 3D with those new glasses! That's right, within the next month we're rolling out new features on our 3D sister site, TheCommentSection3D.org.gov! Look for updates in your mail! Snail mail only though—servers cost money.

If you don't post the image in the message itself, then "it's right there! ------>" is gonna be awfully confusing when you take off your Christmas avatar. Also, suppose that TCS changes the layout so that the avatar is to the left. Or in the middle. Or hovering holographically a few inches from the display. These are all REAL possibilities, and they could happen RIGHT NOW.

A very valid point! And I will take it.
