The DIY thread.

Postby DoglovingJim » Wed Oct 17, 2018 4:28 am

This thread is for everything DIY related. Be sure to discuss any projects you have completed (send pictures too), as well as projects you are planning but need some more input on.

They can range from anything. Whether it is carpentry or gardening, bush-mechanics or "gaming stations". Heck even art or cosplay.

So share, discuss, learn and develop as DIY'ers

This promotion was brought to you by DoglovingJim.

Edit: Just finished a project of my own in fixing a broken chair, now I gotta repair the rest.

The only DIY stuff I do is try fix when things go wrong so I don't have to pay someone. For instance, car maintenance. Or, like this weekend when two toilets in my house overflowed and I had to unclog them.

I take not joy in doing it myself.

My hubby is very proud that we managed to change a light switch box without burning down the house.

or "gaming stations"

Crepes on a crapper, man. It's like you're in my head. I've been telling myself to do something with this Pi Zero for over a year now. But I've seen this $90 Pi 3+ rig on amazon that has just about everything I need/want.

The boy and I planted a tree this summer. I'll get around to uploading photos. It was being attacked by rabbits but I've been using repellent and my neighbor has been using a BB rifle based on one aim, shoot, and miss incident we witnessed. I'd like to think the bunnies weren't slaughtered but I haven't seen them so they must be hibernating right?

It isn't growing evenly due to the early unwanted trimming but it's still a beast. I read a lot of horror stories about the hypothetical "million dollar hole to plant a free tree" beforehand but it seems if you just dig a big enough hole, fill it and mulch it then bam you're an arborist.
