Luckily for me, I was a dumb and naive kid who had absolutely no idea what it was going to be like to be an adult, so I don't have to worry about my dreams not coming true because they were all absurd in the context of the real world to begin with.
Furthermore, the world itself has become so absurd that I don't blame myself for not seeing what was over the horizon.
There was no way in hell that anybody in the 90s could have envisioned the world of today.

That said...
I can drive
I can stay up late
I can drink all the coffee I want
porn is infinite and everywhere and free
all of human knowledge is accessible on a device I can hold in my hand, how sci-fi is that?
I don't have to call up my Dad to help me fix something - I can just watch a video and then go do it myself
dogs are plentiful and easy to get
people can do school from home now, even college
wi-fi is a thing - WI FI IS A THING, Y'ALL
my phone is a flashlight/camera/video recorder/gps device/compass/hard drive/internet browser/guitar tuner/alarm clock/egg timer/stopwatch/video game console/notepad/calculator/instant messenger/photo album/reminder bot/and many more things, but it also does phone calls
I don't know, man, I think from the perspective of being a kid, all my dreams just kind of happened over time.
