You know, if I were a pornstar, I would be completely okay with the make-up. I wouldn't want to be recognized out on the street, and I imagine few of them do either.

Eyebrow pencil, mad false eyelashes, heavy bronzer/shading/highlighting to appear to change the shape of the face + probably some photoshop, for reals, these people obviously dont care about altering their appearance.

It really is easier than it seems, despite how crazy it looks.

But what's with her neck? That has to be shopped, right?

Those people have faces? Hunh. Guess you learn something new every day. A little education never hurt anybody, but I'm warning you now - if I start learning and remembering anything resembling history, I'm going to spread all kinds of rumors about your personal life... strange, baffling rumors that will make said life a lot more interesting.

You know, some of those women, and the women in Sunny's post as well, do indeed look a little fake after the makeup. Some of them look prettier without makeup. But you know, some of them look much better touched up a bit. Some of the porn stars especially look pretty rough without the face paint. And then there are a good selection of porn stars in there who look like the plainer girls I went to school with, and it made me sad because I hate to imagine those girls getting gangbanged or something of that ilk. It's like... you girls are so cute! Don't put that enormous thing in your mouth!

I digress.

Women should be allowed to not wear makeup if they choose, but I'm not going to sit here and say that all women look better without it or that it is oppressive and cruel that it's a part of some women's lives. Some women do, in fact, look worlds better touched up just a little, and if they agree with that and want to do that to their faces, I think they should have more power to them. If they don't, then the same.

I read an interesting opinion on makeup recently. It was a discussion on veils and whether or not women should be allowed to wear them, and a woman pointed out that makeup is really just another kind of veil. It's hiding your real features behind an artificial barrier. I'm not sure how I feel about that, I'm still mulling it. I just thought I should share.
