2048

What are you playing. Hands out of your pockets!

I have discovered the fastest way to lose at this game.

Your score will be about 500 points using this method, give or take 100 points.

You go up as much as you can until you can't go up anymore. Then you go left as much as you can, until you can't go left anymore. Do the same with the down direction. Repeat with the right direction. Repeat the whole thing over and over again.

Boom. Super low score. I got 332 once. Beat that!

I prefer the Doctor Who and Marble Hornets versions.

Also, I'm terrible at this game. I only recently broke 5 digits (on the aforementioned DW and MH versions) and have never won.

I got a 392 today. Beat that, bitches.

EDIT: Of course, Malfeasinator actually had a lower score. Damn it. Brain fart.

My best score so far is 16k or something on the original version. I made two separate 1024 cubes, but I lost before putting them together. I tried playing the Doctor Who theme, but since I'm not a follower of the show I kept mixing them up so it was harder to keep track of how the sequence of Doctors went. All I managed to do was getting to Eccleston, but I was far away from Tennant.

Having won this game, I decided to see how badly I could do. This is the worst I've managed:

I heard about this game on Facebook a while ago. My high score so far is only 10772, and I've only gotten up to the 1024 tile. My problem seems to be that I'll get really far along, then do something stupid and lose in about three moves.

Hey guys! Beat 2048? Feeling like the king of the world? Well prepare to be reduced back to loser status, because somebody went and cloned 2048 and Flappy Bird together.

My high score is 32200. I dislike casual games but seeing powers of two add together is viscerally satisfying.

I've been playing a 5x5 variant that runs through China's dynasties and historical periods from the Xia onwards. I'm up to the Yuan, which is 4096. I was surprised at how much easier the game becomes just by expanding the board by one row and column each. I also didn't expect changing the squares from numbers to dynasties making the game more compelling, but it does. It's almost like advancing through the ages instead of just stacking up numbers.

JackRoad forgot to mention, the game is called Flappy48.

I can't verify if it actually works like in the gif, because I have tried for five minutes and I cannot get past that damn first gap because I have sausages for hands apparently. (Beat that score, Malfeasinator.)

You can get surprisingly high by mashing keys at random.

No, I don't have anything better to do with my time. Why do you ask?

Only to 256 or so. Meanwhile you can more or less win the Fibonacci version of the game that way.
