Puzzle / hidden object games?

Postby OrangeEyebrows » Thu Apr 25, 2013 5:45 pm

I wondered if anyone had any game suggestions for me. I'm terrible at most video games because my hand-eye coordination is ghastly verging on non-existent. I have played some games like Silent Hill with my husband "steering", because I like the puzzle elements.

I also really enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes games by Frogwares, because they have puzzles and mysteries to solve but no combat element. I enjoyed the CSI games as well. So I suppose I'm looking for puzzle / hidden object games with no combat, but not the ones where you just have a static screen and have to find a watering can, four fish, a newspaper and a conical hat. Plotty games preferred for extra super special gratitude points.

Anti-chamber.
You want Anti-chamber. It's a Non-Euclidean puzzle game that builds on itself and in its complexity the farther you go. It's a rival to Portal, in my opinion, as the greatest puzzle game of this generation.

I am going to add my voice to the noise and agree that Antichamber is brilliant.

For a good puzzle game, I'd recommend Catherine. Much of the game is having to climb towers of blocks while evading traps and enemies.

"Letters From Nowhere" for the Android is an okay hidden object game but is lacking in puzzles a little bit.

I'm no fraud, didn't you see the actual picture of myself I posted later?
That was a prank. I'm not human.

I won't be convinced until I see a picture of you catching salmon in your mouth. I'm sorry, that's a hard limit.

Perspective. The Yogscast did a playthrough of this and Void. DigiPen's amazing, their former students made Narbacular Drop, and I think were pretty much all hired to make Portal 2
