Cards Against Humanity

What are you playing. Hands out of your pockets!

Cards Against Humanity

Postby Tanglebones » Sun Apr 21, 2013 12:28 pm

Anybody else play Cards Against Humanity? What was your best play? Your hardest round to judge? (Assuming you can remember. I find the game goes well with alcohol and other such passtimes, so my evenings playing CAH tend to get less rememberable (although somehow they're still memorable) the longer they go on...) Have you made any cards yourself?

My hardest round went like this:

White people like: Not reciprocating oral sex./Actually taking candy from a baby./Being rich. (I gave it to "Being rich.")

I've been mulling over finally marking up my first white card, but I'd like some input on which of these makes for a funnier card (you may notice a similar theme here...):

A sexy Chewbacca
A sexy Wookiee
A sexy, shaved Wookiee
A sexy, bald Wookiee
A sexy, balding Wookiee

I've often felt like I should have a forum signature, but have always felt awkward about it. What if mine's no good?

My family's always loved Apples to Apples, so this would be right up our ally. I downloaded it a while ago, but I've never managed to get it printed.

I would love playing Cards Against Humanity if I ever had anyone to play with.

Also, I think "A Sexy Wookiee" is funniest. Keep it simple.

You guys, I have never played this game, and I would very much like to; it has crazy hype. Is there an online version we could throw down on?

There's an online game based on it: http://pyz.socialgamer.net/game.jsp

I've never played it, so I don't know how similar it is.

That might be real cool. Maybe set a time, and a some of us could try a few games.

This game is awesome--I know a friend with a set of these and sometimes we all get together and play between classes. It's especially funny when playing with the addition of random people dragged in from around the lunch tables. You have to be careful to pick the oddballs though because you don't want to get anyone who's easily offended.

Message me when you do! We'll definitely set up a time, and maybe I can talk a couple of the other mods/admins/fishpeople into making a formal announcement.

I want in, too! PM me if this becomes a thing.
Also, to explain the game: you're given a hand of several cards that have some form of noun or action. Another card is placed in the center, and everyone secretly throws in the card that they think (or totally don't think) matches up with this new card. A judge (which changes each round) picks the cars the they think goes best with the topic card in the center. The twist is that every card in the deck has some soul-scarring idea on it. Like the worst thing you can imagine wrapped up in sardonic evil.

Absolutely, we should submit ask Tesseracts and the like to create a specific event for an online CAH game.

A few of the custom cards I've penned:

Defacating in a hazmat suit.
Terri Schiavo wearing a wizard's cap.
I'm a huge dickweed. That's not what this card says; I just suck.

I'll admit they're not all that practical.

Alright, so new rule: don't make your own custom cards. It creates a bit of a bias. If I'm the one selecting the winning card, obviously I'm going to pick the one with my handwriting on it. Because why would I write "Treating Don Imus to a sponge bath" or "Recurring dreams about Carol Channing" if I didn't find them hilarious?

Things got kind of hostile.
