Dammit Rebo Gash, look what you made me do. Now I have to play through the game again...

Bless and Curse you!

Was scrolling through my YouTube favorites list for another thread, and came across this:

The game itself was kind of shitty, but I love this theme so much.

From Fallout: New Vegas, the NCR theme at Hoover Dam:

It doesn't have a proper title, but the uploader has named it 'Not Worth A Dam', which I think both really fits and is also kind of a decent pun. I love this track because in the brisk tempo you can also hear the nascent industrial might of the New California Republic, which imo is one of the most fascinating theme in a generally fascinating game.

My top two - Batman: Arkham City and Okami. AC score is dark, moody, atmospheric and captures the feel of that game perfectly. Also, it makes anything look epic when you play it alongside them, which is a plus. As for the Okami soundtrack, I chose that because I think some of the biggest moments from that game wouldn't have been as memorable or goosebump-inducing if not for the accompanying songs.

After all these years, I'm still in love with the soundtrack for Morrowind.

I never played Morrowind, but yes!

Also, I love this song in Skyrim. Every time I see a bard I request this song.

Been playing a Palaiologos game on Crusader Kings 2 lately, so been hearing this a lot. I love it. Easily my favourite of Andreas Waldetoft's work. Every time I hear it I feel like playing the Byzantines.

...brb.

I don't know what it is about Russian folk songs that make for kickass video game music, but oh my god, this version of Katyusha, you guys:

Also noteworthy is the one game soundtrack I have in my iTunes, Napple Tale. I have no idea whether this game is good. I was playing it at a friend's house who had a massive collection of Dreamcast games. It's entirely in Japanese and isn't much help if you don't speak it, so we just spent hours riffing on how confused we were. But the main thing I took away from it, aside from the hilarity of the word "napple", is that this is the catchiest fucking song ever:

I could be biased because it's in my Top Two Games of the Year So Far, but the Tomb Raider soundtrack by Jason Graves is effin badass. A perfect companion piece to a near-perfect game.

I can't believe I haven't posted in this thread yet.

Have a little taste of Xenoblade. Best game on the Wii. First up is the night theme for Satorl Marsh.

And if the Gaur Plains daytime theme doesn't trigger your sense of adventure and make you want to grab a sword and kill a path to the horizon then check your vitals.

Maybe it's because I've always been a sucker for 80s music (though I actually grew up in the 90s) but GTA Vice City's radio was just awesome. All the stations had great music, and the DJ announcements and ads were really funny. But my favorite station by far was VROCK. I wish there was a local radio station that played that kind of music when I was growing up. Hell, I wish there was a radio station like that today.

Edit: here's VROCK's whole station playlist

I would like to make a late entry (I know I posted FFX and ME3 earlier) here to my #3 game of 2013 (Behind the tie for first place of SR4 and BI), for Fire Emblem Awakening. There are so many things I loved about that game, but one of the things that surprised me was how many of the orchestral songs were better than 9/10's of the music I hear in AAA games. Anyways, here are a couple choice picks (I would remind you, this is a 3DS game):

and for a more heartstring plucking one:
