What are you playing. Hands out of your pockets!

Also, someone up there posted something from the Bastion, so I'll just leave this here. It's all three of the main songs put together.

NieR's soundtrack is so good it hurts.

What other game invents an entire language just for the soundtrack?

Same team got the go ahead to finally make Dragon-on-Dragoon 2 3. My body is so ready. It's been ready for 10 years. I certainly hope they don't censor all the assuredly horrific things that will happen in it like they did in the original.

It's absolutely the best song from OoT. When I was a kid I would just hang out in Gerudo Valley to hear it. Also, how freaking cool that that couple got a mariachi band to play it at their wedding. That's awesome.

Does this count as a game soundtrack? I say it does. Because this is the best soundtrack such a game could ever have.

I always loved Freelancer's soundtrack. I've found very few game OSTs to capture that feeling of adventure and perilousness so perfectly.

Hell, sometimes I'll put it on while I just walk around the house. I spread my arms out like spacewings and make PEW PEW sounds at the lamps. Well maybe not that last part, but it does make good background music!

Seriously, that was my favorite part of the game. Even now, I listen to it when I work out.

So the game and the story that came attached to it was putrescence incarnate, but this was a pretty sweet little tune. All it needs now is Antwon or Main Attrakionz rapping over it.

A recent (and unsurprising, given the company that made it) entry for kickass music, Transistor. There's something about the haunting electronic/noir tone of it that I just reeeealllly love. Anyways, to cherry pick a pair of songs:

So, as I sperged out over earlier, Drakengard 3 sooo did not disappoint me OST-wise.

I recently did a remaster of my all-time favorite piece of music from any video game, the music from Bramble Blast in Donkey Kong Country 2 for the SNES. I didn't do much to the actual music besides beef the bass up a lot, but I did add in a drum break to flesh it out. It makes fantastic driving music. I still can't believe the original was made on a 16-bit chip.

At the risk of over-mentioning it, there's one more from Transistor, which gets special mention for being a (very) dark reprise of an earlier song sung by the protagonist, implied to be sung by one of the major villains while you fight her.
