What do you listen to?

CHVRCHES - Never Say Die

I'm more obsessed with the build up to the chorus then the song as a whole, but it's been on repeat for me tonight.

JamishT was a heck of a guy,
With a devilish twinkle in his eye.
With his hand-picked flowers,
And his feel-good powers,
He made all the girls blush and sigh.

I'm listening to "Golden Hour" by Kacey Musgraves, and I've listened through this album about 10 times since it came out a few months ago. It's easy listening, she has a solid voice, and it's great! Here's a song from that album where she uses the word 'chrysalis' unironically:

I've been convinced for awhile that I should like Bela Bartok. My second-favorite composer is another Hungarian (Karl Goldmark), plus Bartok tried to incorporate folk music into his compositions. So every so often I play his music for several hours in an attempt to force myself to develop a taste for his music.

In my latest round of doing this, I realized that Bartok often has parts of his compositions which make me really tense for some reason. Would I like his music if not for those parts? Probably not, but I keep trying anyways.

Any rate, here's the Bartok pieced I've found I like best, though I still don't prefer his music to silence. (But then most of the time I don't prefer any music to silence.)

Johnny Mercer & The Pied Pipers- ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE

Perry Como, Roy Hamilton and Sam Cooke (and others but only those came to mind) each made covers of this song but I got the original stuck in my head for today.

EDIT: Judging from the internets Connie Francis made a cover as well? And now I have Sam Cookes version stuck in my head instead.

So I have been listening to playlists from KGNU in Denver, which has a huge archive of shows on their website and has separate shows for several genres I like (though some are much better than others).

This is one by an obscure band which has gotten stuck in my head. As far as I can tell there is not even a studio version, so I found one they recorded live on the air at a different radio station.

I recently discovered Shelly Seagal's "Apocalyptic Love Song." She dedicated it to Christopher Hitchens, who I am not a fan of, but it is still a really nice song.

Why are there so few secular hymns about the wonders of the universe? The only other one I know of is Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer's "Gentle Arms of Eden."

Nodame Cantible's ED1
This shows just a sweet gem, and Nodame is best woman. Also, her and Chiaki are already a couple. He cleaned her apartment, washed her hair, and cooked her meals right on episode one. Chiaki and Nodame should just get married.
