What do you listen to?

Mini Mansions - Heart of Glass

I love how they slowed it down.

Miley covering Summertime Sadness

I actually really like her voice in this. It's a shame it is not that well displayed in her own songs.

Now see, even though I sort of lost interest after the first chorus (that melodic line was just a little too in every that kind of song for me), that's the sort of cover I think is the most interesting. The one that takes a song and, rather than just play it a little slower on acoustic instruments, it actually does something new and original with it. It breathes new life into a song that way.

Anyway here's a cover I really like right now.

Original for reference:

"I desperately want Jiggery Pokery now."-- Pikajew

"I do feel that if she happens to favour attractive, successful, intelligent men I will be at a disadvantage."--Anglerphobe

"I have a beautiful sphincter and Mexico is gonna pay for it."--Kate

Linda Ronstadt- You're No Good

The song was originally sung by Betty Everett I believe (which I placed below if you want to check it out for comparison).

Jim. Linda Rondstat did the original "You're No Good". Just saying. Not a cover.

Linda sung "you're no good" over a decade after Betty did, so there is no way she did the original. Unless you're actually implying that she's a time traveler and had some wacky adventure kind of like how Marty Mcfly was actually the one who inspired Chuck Berry's most memorable song.

(However Andropov4 is correct, the first known recording was by Dee Dee Warwick and made in the same year as Betty's version [1963] so I guess that I got them mixed up.)

This song is a lot better than I expected when I started listening to it. Still overdramatic at the end though.

Ah, a cover song which I easily prefer to the original.

I liked the voice of this cover singer better than the original.

About 2 minutes into this video begins one of the most offensive acts of desecration I have ever heard. Good God. As if making your money pandering to the military-industrial complex wasn't atrocious enough...

First thing that popped into my mind when I heard "five finger death punch".

For covers however, I have always liked The Animals rendition of House of the Rising Sun.
