Sabaton love thread.

What do you listen to?

Sabaton love thread.

My girlfriend introduced me to the band. She likes to listen to it as she cleans and I'm at work. For those who don't know their schtick, all of their songs are about famous battles. I mentioned, once, that if I was listening to certain songs, people might get confused and think I was listening to Christian Rock cause of lyrics like "Chosen by heaven," and, "with the Lord as my protector."

If it was Christian Rock, though, it'd be the best Christian Rock of all time:

Once, whilst joined in a great battle, I was locked in the heat of skirmish with a Turk when, foolish as I was, I allowed another of the vile heathens to approach my flank unnoticed. As I felled his hell-damned companion, this scoundrel coward of the desert struck upon my leg with his scimitar. By the grace of God, and the ingenious of man, I was spared the fate of many a warrior who before me had been as foolish. The scimitar's blow was deflected by my sabaton, and at such an angle that, in a moment, this servant of Satan had fallen to the side, and I had brought my blade down upon his neck. Ere long, these foes of the Lord gave into their cowardice, of which we know much, and fled the field. Truly, it is the will of God that the holy city of Constantine shall never fall to these dogs who worship the moon and stars.

I too love sabatons, for they have saved me more often than the most lovely woman, or the most loyal of my brothers.

So I'd never heard of them until now, so I looked them up on Wikipedia. Apparently, several of the band members left to form a new group, which they have (very appropriately) name "Civil War".

I'd heard of them, but hadn't actually listened before. I listened to some of their songs on Spotify a few days back. I like them. They're not my favorite metal band, but definitely enjoyable and very listenable.

Sabaton are my favorite band to listen to. Favorite song is ''light in the black''.

If I were to extend it to a top-10 I'd add (in no particular order): Saboteurs, Wehrmacht, Final Solution, 1648, Lifetime of War, Inmate 4859, Smoking Snakes, Hearts of Iron, and Union. I liked ''The last stand'' album, but none have really made their way into my favorites.

Light in the Black is one of my favourite songs too, but it's by Rainbow. The Sabaton song of the same name is pretty good, though.
